Arcade Archives has released a reproduction of retro puzzle game Libble Rabble, designed by Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani and published by Namco in 1983, for the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4.
The player controls two colored arrows, Libble and Rabble, to wrap around pegs and surround small creatures known as Mushlins to ‘bashishi’ them within a time limit. There are also treasure chests to uncover and if the player can bashishi all the Topcups that pop out of them, a miracle will occur leading to a special bonus stage.
A life is lost if an enemy touches one of the arrows or the player runs out of time, though extra time can be earned by looping Mushlins and plants. Extra lives are awarded 40,000, 120,000, 200,000, 400,000, 600,000 and 1,000,000 points.
Libble Rabble is available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 priced $7.99.
